Jersey DJ Raises More Than £11.5k While Running London Marathon
Jersey DJ Gus Fraser, who performed live music while running the London Marathon, has successfully raised over £11,500 for charity. Attempting to establish a new world record as the fastest DJ to complete a marathon, the 45-year-old aimed to finish the 26.2-mile (42.2km) course within five hours, meeting Guinness World Records criteria.

Despite facing a back injury prior to the marathon, Mr. Fraser expressed pride in his accomplishment, even though he fell short of setting a record. Clocking in at six hours and 21 minutes, he endured considerable discomfort throughout the run, experiencing significant pain starting at 3.12 miles (5km).

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Fraser highlighted his distinction as the sole individual to have completed a marathon while DJing, considering it a notable achievement in itself. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received from spectators along the route, citing their encouragement as a source of motivation.

Throughout the race, Mr. Fraser carried DJ equipment weighing approximately 8kg (17lb), symbolizing his dedication to both his craft and his cause. His fundraising efforts were dedicated to Cancer Research UK, in honor of his late father who passed away a decade ago.

Notably recognized by spectators who had seen him earlier on BBC Breakfast and BBC Sport, Mr. Fraser received enthusiastic cheers from the crowd, which fueled his energy and determination throughout the marathon.
