Internationally acclaimed master tailor, Andrew Ramroop, returned to his country of birth, Trinidad & Tobago, to implement the certificate in Ultra Bespoke Tailoring, Pattern Drafting, Cutting and Fitting in 2017 through a partnership with the country's Ministry of Trade, the MIC Technical Institute and Fashion TT.
The one-year certificate programme facilitated by Professor Ramroop enrolled twenty-seven aspiring tailors from Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Colombia and India.
In 1970, Trinidad-born Andrew Madan Ramroop OBE left Maingot Road, Tunapuna at age 17, for Savile Row in England. He attended the London College of Fashion where he graduated in two years with distinction.
In the late 1980s, Ramroop became the first man of colour to own a business on Savile Row as the sole owner of Maurice Sedwell, as well as the Savile Row Academy. Andrew has since made bespoke suits for customers around the world which includes many politicians, athletes and celebrities including the late Princess Diana.
